Adum Night (2007)

This is an urban scene depicting a particularly lively area in Ghana's second city, Kumasi. It is a very busy place for business and economy. At night the place transforms into a very lively and beautiful area where the roadside is dotted with vibrant bars. People go to sit outside in the warm humid air and enjoy their evening meals whilst having a drink and listening to music. As the night progresses, the music gets louder and people congregate to dance and have fun.

The many different brightly coloured lights from bars, restaurants, street-lights and passing vehicles reflect in the dark and blend. The atmosphere of Adum at night is really captured in this wonderful painting.
