Description
Memories of Colonialism (2006)
This is a composition of slaves and their colonial masters with a famous slave castle behind them. The castle is known as Cape Coast Castle and is the largest of the many purpose built forts and castles in Ghana. Many have been poorly maintained since the slave trade between West Africa and America was abolished. However, CCC still stands and is a constant haunting of mankind's maltreatment of others. Prophask has envisaged a realistic scene of slaves being escorted at gun-point on their final steps across African soil. They have passed through the infamous 'point of no return' and are about to be taken out to the vessel on which they will be transported to America.
It is important to reflect upon these times to continue moving forward.
